About us

Formulateka is an information service about preparations sold by mail order. We describe what is in them, on what terms they are bought and where the limits of such a product are. The legal category we state for each one separately, because it is not the same for all of them.

Why the service is split by country

Every country has its own food law, its own authority, its own register and its own shops, so the same preparation is a different story in each of them. A page that mixed those stories would be right in no country at all. That is why the catalogue is kept per country, and each section is written from local sources: the label sold in that country, the price in its retail, the rules of its authority.

Where the data comes from

Composition and the way a product is used come from the manufacturer, and we say that they are the manufacturer claims. Legal matters, the category of the product and the duty to notify the authority, we describe after the rules in force in that country. Where something is not known to us, we write that plainly instead of filling the gap with a number from another page.

We look for the composition at the source, not in the advertisement, and always in the same order:

1. the label: the ingredient panel or the INCI list published by the manufacturer;
2. the product card of a shop that sells the item in retail, where the amounts are copied from the package;
3. only when neither exists, the claim from the sales page, quoted as a claim and named as one.

Prices follow the same road: if the preparation has a retail circulation, the amount from a comparison site stands next to the amount of a telephone order, even when the comparison is not in our favour.

Every attribute in our tables carries the document it was copied from and the day it was checked. That is the whole of our authority: not a signature under the text, but a source that the reader can open.

How we earn money

If you place an order through a form on our page, the distributor pays us a commission. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change what we write about the product: every description also collects the complaints and the situations in which the purchase makes no sense. What we answer for is written in the Terms of use, and the path of the form data in the Privacy policy.

What we are not

• We are not a pharmacy and not a retail seller.
• We are not the manufacturer of the preparations we describe.
• We give no medical advice and replace no consultation with a doctor.
• We publish no user reviews and no star ratings: we have none that are real.
